If you follow me on Instagram (@valerie_sanders) you probably know I was just in California for a little vacay. It was lovely! I decided to do a little recap post to highlight some of my favorite things. Although there's probably about 174 other things I would have wanted to do as well, we got a lot done in 5 days! Everything was so good. There's so much pink in California and it just feels really right.

Everytime I get back from a trip it makes me eager to travel somewhere else. I'm hoping for another little adventure sometime soon!

The Beverly Hills Hotel is delightful, necessary, and so worth it! I died over every inch of the building and landscaping.

HAD to make it to Urth Caffe and it was SO GOOD. Also, if you're a gluten free gal like myself it will make you really happy.

Brunch at the cutest boutique hotel I've ever laid eyes on, The Crescent in Beverly Hills. I'd recommend a stay here as well!

Rodeo Drive Obviously

In-N-Out was bomb. So glad they have the lettuce wrap option but also sad I have to have the lettuce wrap option, ya know?

Melrose is the place. The coolest shops with drool-worthy decor.

We stayed at Le Meridien Defina in Santa Monica for the last couple of days. Perfect location in relation to the Santa Monica Pier and Venice!

Summer Basics: Bodysuits x Denim

I went shopping the other day and basically had a life crisis in the middle of Forever 21. I was looking around and I hated absolutely everything everywhere I went. Like nothing was cool. And then I thought, WHAT EVEN IS COOL ANYMORE? So then basically my whole life and wardrobe was in question and I just had to go home.

This is one thing I know for sure though:

My favorite/easiest recipe for a cool summer look: bodysuits and denim. Any combination always works so good. In this case my bodysuit's a swimsuit bc at some point in the day I'm going to need a swimsuit anyway, right? I just love it when things are versatile.

The Graphic Tees

I've had my eye on these Zara boots for sooooo long. I finally decided I needed to order them.They're so good.  And luckily I did because when I went to the website just 4 DAYS after ordering them they were no where to be seen! Completely gone! Done! Apparently the Zara sale started, they had gone on sale, and people went crazy. It was destiny I decided to order them at that moment. The lesson here: DON'T WAIT, BUY THE SHOES. Also, I recommend checking out the rest of the Zara sale yourself. It's killing me.

Anyway. Cool tees and really good boots are my look lately. Simple, but really good.

Halter Time

Simple, cute, summer-y. Sounds good. Some days I am just completely no nonsense and want to throw something on as quick as possible and not care. Today was one of those days. LUCKILY I got this super cute little pink halter from SheInside. I have a weakness for anything light pink :/ Loved it with my boyfriend jeans but also contemplated my tennis skirt or 70's style athletic shorts.

We all need cute little things that go with everything.

Greenhouses

Going to cute greenhouses is my favorite pastime. So many cute plants to be seen! Also a great background.

I'm wearing my new EyeBuyDirect glasses here. I'm obsessed. It was the hardest decision picking out which ones I wanted because they are all so good!! I went with the Aura frames in Frosted Vanilla though and that was a really good choice. Look at them! They also happened to go very nicely with my nude bandana which was very unintentional but whatever. Which happened to look cute with my flowy little Brandy Melville top. And everything looks good with some everyday light wash denim cutoffs.

Refresh

I'm done with school and home for the summer YAY. I actually have been for a while but I had to take the first couple weeks to do nothing but sit on my couch with my doge. That was needed. But I am refreshed now and ready for a great summer, how about you?

These trees!!!

So we're driving down the road and we see this tree, and it's beautiful so we pull into the parking lot next to it. I just love flowers. Then we realized we need to take pictures with it but my outfit wasn't right. So we literally went home, I changed my outfit, and then came back and let me tell you, that was worth it. And also embarrassing.

Spring is such a cute time and I love the clothing that goes along with it. May I suggest a monochromatic mauve ensemble with the perfect little flowy shorts from Brandy Melville?
