Plaid

One of my favorite patterns to wear this fall is plaid. I usually have only worn plaid shirts but lately I am obsessed with plaid skirts, pants, coats, plaid everything.  (Don't worry, a plaid pants post is coming in the near future) I love this one I got from Abercrombie & Fitch. It's edgy but very easy to wear because it goes with so many things. This time I just paired it with a graphic tee. It would also be great with any t-shirt, denim shirt, or even a sweater.

Whenever I wear boots, I almost always wear taller socks too. I feel like it's too plain without them. Adding contrasting socks is such an easy way to make your outfit more interesting.

(p.s. I'm going to start putting links to items exactly like mine or very similar so it's super easy if you're wanting to get the same thing)

Thigh Highs > Pants

Thigh highs are my favorite and it is finally the perfect time of year to break them out. It is pretty much like I'm wearing pants, except I'm not. So great. I just ordered these from Urban Outfitters and I love them. The open-knit design with slouchy top makes them more interesting than just the usual thigh high.

Another fall favorite is also fuzzy/furry sweaters, like I just so happen to be wearing in this ensemble as well. These can be pretty pricey so I'll tell you a hint. Go to thrift shops because I got this one for about $5 and it's exactly what I was looking for. It's a really ugly yellow but it's so ugly that I like it. You know what I mean?

To finish off my look I added this black fedora hat. What a surprise, it's from Urban too. I have never been much of a hat person but they are really doing it for me lately. They are so easy to throw on and I think it pulls your whole outfit together.

Little Girl in a Large Vest

An oversized studded utility vest makes my preppy little striped Abercombie dress look a lot cooler. It's also a good item to transition summer pieces into fall. I ordered this vest from Urban Outfitters and was not expecting it to be so large but I actually like things big so everything is fine.

How terribly typical it is that I'm wearing my gold chain necklace again. Like I said, it goes with just about everything. I actually don't own many accessories so if you're looking to get one cool piece to wear, this should be it.

Mom Jean Monday

Today's look features the classic "mom jean". They're almost so unflattering, that they're flattering. These are perfect for a casual day going to class or standing in front of a building taking pictures. Right now I love light denim and these are perfect. And if you're wondering, denim on denim is always a good idea. Crop tops are a nice choice to pair with some high-waisteds like these. Another item I'm obsessed with too is this chunky chain necklace. It almost literally goes with everything and I wear it at least 3 times a week.

Throwback to Summer

A local photographer, Glen Mcphail asked if he could take pictures of me this past summer and I said sure. This was one of my favorite looks from the shoot. I'm not going to be able to wear my bright, cute, summer clothes anymore so I had to do a post real quick.

I found this neon pink geometric print skirt while browsing Nasty Gal's amazing sale section. I love shopping clothes on sale and clearance and I don't care. I paired it with a patterned flower cutout top. Both the patterns are very different but since they are subtle, it still works nicely. These shoes are my favorite from Steve Madden and I love wearing contrasting colored shoes with my outfits. Sun hats were also my favorite this summer. The are the perfect finishing touch to any outfit.

P.S. leave me comments or questions! That would be fun.

Festival Style (but I've never been to a festival)

I usually base my outfit off of one piece and today it was this kimono duster from Abercrombie & Fitch. I'm all about denim on denim and this long duster is the perfect layering item to bring everything together. A lot of people make fun of Abercrombie because everyone shopped there when they were in middle school, but i'm just going to let everyone know that they are wrong and Abercrombie actually has very fashionable clothes and I shop there a lot. I enjoy the festival-style boho chic look a lot and it's so easy to do. One thing that I've recently started doing is rolling the waistband over on my jeans. I saw it one time and thought it was actually the coolest thing for some reason. I think it makes your whole outfit more interesting. So if you haven't tried it, maybe you should.

Tennis Skirt at the Tennis Court

It was clear to me that because I am wearing a tennis skirt, it was completely necessary to take pictures at the tennis courts. Upon arriving at the courts, I found there were a lot of people there actually playing tennis. How annoying. So just imagine how awkward I looked taking these pictures while people are playing tennis on the courts next to me. haha :/
Anyways, this American Apparel tennis skirt is an all time favorite. It's stylish yet understated so it goes with a wide range of items. Also, it's DIFFERENT. Do you see a lot of people walking around in tennis skirts? I do not and that's why I like it so much too.
Since the skirt is white, I just decided to go all out with white. I feel like it makes more of a statement with everything being one color. I recently purchased these Adidas tennis shoes and I'm completely obsessed. A large amount of high end designers are incorporating Adidas into their looks; I have seen it multiple times in Vogue. I think it's amazing because it's so unexpected. I had these shoes when I was in elementary school and I love wearing them again! Some people just don't seem to understand this style but they need to.
